The health department has been apprehensive and cautious – balancing restrictions with living life. We saw a slow steady recovery this past summer. It’s said that the entire TCI had their highest numbers of tourism at the end of August 2021, including pre-covid.
The reason for TCI’s low number of cases is because of our strict testing and vaccination requirements. Turks and Caicos require visitors to provide proof of a negative COVID test to enter the country and all travelers over the age of 16 are required to be vaccinated. There are 21 testing centers around the TCI, with 16 of them based at hotels.
Hotels have also kept room stock available for guests that may need to quarantine. Even with full occupancy, it feels spacious because of the expansive buildings and extensive outdoor dining.
